Also a huge win for the varsity boys as they upset #2 ranked PTA in overtime. The Lakers got two goals from Elijah Denham, including a near half field chip shot over the goalie to win it with just over a minute left in overtime. Landon Theriault was outstanding in net as usual to secure the Lakers win.
And last but certainly not least our middle school girls came up with a very big 3-1 win in their last regular season game against Penobscot Christian. Harper Swanson, Astrid Seeback and Maggie Shaw each found the net for your Lakers. The Lakers got strong goaltending from Micha Brown and Indie Shaw to secure a big win before playoffs.
Speaking of playoffs! Both middle school teams will be in this years Penquis League tournament. Playoff seeding and schedules will be announced shortly.
Go Lakers!
The first grade class invited the Principal in to share a story during their community meeting. Students were able to see photos he had taken of Elephants, Leopard, Giraffes, and Baobab trees from a recent trip overseas.
10th graders hosted a guest lecture from Medieval historian John Contreni during the British Literature class.
The middle school golf team won its match on Wednesday with two players winning the male and female medals.
And all of the middle school and high school students were able to celebrate the GCS Homecoming Weekend. The weather was perfect, the bonfire was well-attended, and the blacklight dance was visually stunning.

-- What a privilege it is to have these resources and partnerships available in our backyard.
It was also another fruitful week of learning in the art room. Students from every grade span were busy working on projects related to the different formal elements: line, space, texture, form, shape, value, and more.
--We are fortunate to have such dedicated and professional faculty and staff.

It was an excellent week of outdoor and classroom learning as summer turned to autumn. Here are a few of the many worthy photos that faculty and staff wanted to share with the community:
Some of the elementary students were able to explore the nature trails and learn more about salamanders. Others were able to practice orthographic transcript with writing partners. And yet another group was able to practice reading with a high school reading buddy.
Middle school students were able to attend an overnight field trip to the AMC Medawisla Lodge where they completed team-building activities, canoed and kayaked, and appreciated the spectacular nighttime stargazing.
We were also able to celebrate the K-5 September Students of the Month in an assembly on Friday. We are very proud of each student who was nominated and helped to set the positive tone for the year.
It is amazing to think that the first month of the 2025-2026 school year has come and gone.
Monday, 09/29/2025 is a White Day.

The middle school soccer games scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday 9/25) have been postponed and rescheduled for October 14th at home. Boys will play first at 3:30 followed by the girls at 4:45.

It was another week of beautiful weather and varied learning at Greenville Consolidated School. Though there were many more impressive moments, here is a sample of student activities:
Early elementary students developed artistic abilities and practiced transcription in learning centers.
Upper elementary students explored the Cole Transportation Museum and Challenger Learning Center.
Middle school students explored Wabanaki heritage at the Moosehead at the Center for Moosehead History and learned more about 09/11/2001 in group book study.
And high school students were busy with athletic events and delving into advanced academics (including a discussion on Middle English).
We deeply appreciate the faculty and staff who work everyday to make the student experience so rich.
Monday, 09/22/2025, is a Blue Day.
